Location Dalarna County, Sweden – Open December to April
Located just over a two-hour drive from central Stockholm (There is even a regular coach transfer from Stockholm Central!), Romme Alpin is the hidden gem of Dalarna County and perfect for a short escape. As the largest resort outside of the Swedish mountain regions, Romme has 33 slopes, 13 lifts, with five of these being six chair express lifts!
Romme Alpin resort consists of two overlapping, heavily forested mountains. Although the size of the resort is relatively small, the facilities are incredibly modern and the sheer quality of the 33 tree-lined slopes on offer will ensure that you’ll have more fun here than at resorts with double that number! Typically this is a great resort for a skier/snowboarder of any level with a good distribution of slope difficulty and decent park section, although some expert skiers may find the resort wanting after a few days.
With several restaurants onsite weekend visitors are well covered without leaving the resort, further afield in Borlänge there are more supermarkets are restaurants on offer for those looking to save a bit of money. Luxury and budget accommodation is available.
