Watch – Hansdotter Bids Farewell by Giving out Pastries During Her Final Ever Competitive Downhill Run

We’ve seen many legendary Alpine athletes retire this year, greats such as Lindsey Vonn and Aksel Lund Svindal have all waved goodbye. Now it is sadly time for another to go, Sweden’s Frida Hansdotter.

Keen to do something truly different on her final run the Olympic Gold medalist from Pyeong Chang wore a traditional Swedish dress and handed out Cinnamon buns on her way down the course.

At the finishing line, she was greeted by her fellow competitors who were all waiting to bid farewell to the Alpine star.

Frida commented after the run, “It feels great to make my last run and thank the leaders and meet the girls at the end. I have competed for Sweden throughout my life and I’m proud of it, so I wanted to wear yellow and blue. I had not been able to dream of a better day!”.
